LIVERPOOL — Super Sunday in the Premier League reaches its crescendo this afternoon as Arne Slot’s table-topping Liverpool welcome Enzo Maresca’s resurgent Chelsea to Anfield in a high-stakes tactical showdown.

Liverpool enter the fixture perched atop the Premier League table after winning six of their opening seven matches under Slot. The Dutch tactician has forged a resilient defensive foundation, with the Reds having conceded just two domestic goals all season—the best defensive record in Europe’s top five leagues.

Chelsea, however, represent Liverpool’s sternest test to date. Under Maresca, the Blues have won three consecutive away league matches, scoring 10 goals in the process. The catalyst has been the sensational form of Cole Palmer, who has already amassed six goals and five assists this season.

The headline individual duel features Mohamed Salah going head-to-head with Palmer. Salah has been in lethal form at Anfield, registering five goals and four assists in all competitions. His combination on the right flank with Trent Alexander-Arnold will test Chelsea left-back Renato Veiga, who deputizes for the suspended Marc Cucurella.

In midfield, Liverpool will lean on Ryan Gravenberch and Alexis Mac Allister to stifle Enzo Fernández and Moisés Caicedo, with Curtis Jones tipped to provide dynamic box-to-box energy.

Referee John Brooks will officiate the encounter, with Michael Oliver overseeing VAR duties. Kickoff is scheduled for 16:30 BST (11:30 AM Eastern), televised on Sky Sports in the UK and Peacock in the United States.
